create the original
C
We create unique cost-effective, future-proof spaces on time with forward-thinking designs.
let's get started.
Harpar Design is an architectural design studio founded in October 2024. Haresh is a Licenced Building Practitioner in Design 2 with over 30 years’ experience. He has spent many of those years with some of Auckland’s supreme designers before making the ultimate decision to head up his own architectural practice.
The studio can document and deliver residential and commercial architectural projects New Zealand wide, as well as alterations and renovations. No job is too big or too small for this practice. With a wealth of experience, every project is carefully considered from the initial concept stage, right through to building completion. The number one priority is to listen to the client and provide the best solution for them and their site requirements.
The philosophy to designing great architecture is to design in its simplest form. What we create should fit naturally into its environment. When a form sits well, and is pleasing to the eye, we breathe easily. We are calm and content. This is how you feel when you ‘create the original’.
Collaboration is key to a successful project being completed. Harpar Design works closely with its clients to achieve the highest possible result to meet their expectations.

SERVICES
We offer a full design service for the following:
THE PROCESS
The predesign
We have one main objective in this phase and that’s to fully understand the clients needs and wishes. We collect as much information as possible to establish what the project needs to offer to meet the clients’ expectations.
The Concept Design
This stage is when we take a creative look at all the information gathered during predesign. We can begin developing concepts which are shaped by the budget, project scope and client requirements. We will provide a set of plans, elevations and site plan. 3D renders may also be included where it is appropriate to do so.
Developed design
During this stage of development, we have agreed on a concept design with the client. We will refine ideas and incorporate client feedback. During this period, a quantity surveyor would be engaged to establish a detailed cost estimate of the project.
Detailed design & documentation
The developed design is refined further in order to create detailed drawings and specifications. This will provide the main contractor with the documentation to assess the full scope of the project. At this point a building consent application can be applied for.
Contract administration
We can manage the contractual and financial transactions during the construction process of your project. You may decide to manage it yourself or get your main contractor to administer it. This is totally up to you.
Contract work observation
We can help in overseeing the construction phase of your project. Our main role is to maintain clarification between ourselves, the contractor and you. This includes onsite visits and monitoring the construction contracts that are in place. This allows us to check quality of construction being applied on site and if any issues arise on site they can be dealt with quickly.
Completion
When the main contractor advises your architectural designer, the project is practically complete (some minor details may remain) your architectural designer can assess the construction and provide a detailed list of remaining work. Your architectural designer will collect all trade warranties from the main contractor and will secure a Code Compliance Certificate for you. At this point in the project, your architectural designer will also help administer final payments to contractors and issue the main contractor with a Defects Liability Certificate. Again, you may decide to manage it yourself or get your main contractor to administer it. This is totally up to you.
